Blood on Blood, 1999

Letterpress and linoleum block printed pages. 20 short stories about my "family" which of course are all "true."
The Colophon reads: I have always loved to tell stories. This book celebrates twenty years of mining my loved ones for material for my work. Quite simply, thanks to my sixty-three first cousins, my bazillion other cousins, my friends, and of course my immediate family. Now the facts-- The acid-free recycled paper "memory books," were printed with silver ink and Century Schoolbook type. The linoleum cuts were printed on Magnani Pescia. Much appreciated technical assistance provided by Kelly Roberge, George Glassman, and Buzz White. Limited to 100.

Istoriato, 2001

Multiple color linoleum blook prints illustrating Greek Mythology. The shaped pages are bound into a concertina, with a printed cloth cover. Each book is issued in a lipped clamshell box with a shelf which holds a unique glazed plate.
The colophon reads: The invention of the printing press changed the design of maiolica pottery. Istoriato, story painting, began when potters started to copy prints of masterworks. I have always been interested in the influence of scientific innovation over art, and how a seemingly unrelated advance in one craft can change everything in another.
This project was produced at The Center for Book Arts in New York City, with help from their interns. Limited to fifty copies.
